The following information is about Androgens.

Androgens Defined

A category of male sex hormones, found in small amounts in women. The main androgen is called testosterone, and the other androgens really just help testosterone to achieve certain results. In men, androgens are necessary for reproductive development. In women, androgens can be responsible for unwanted hair — especially on the face, chin, upper lip, and cheeks. Increased androgens or sensitivity to androgens can also cause acne.
