Chlamydia Defined

The most common sexually transmitted bacterial infection in the United States. It can infect the penis, vagina, cervix, anus, urethra, or eye. Usually, chlamydia does not cause symptoms, so most people are not aware that they have the infection. Chlamydia is a serious health threat, as it can lead to pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), but it is easy to treat with antibiotics once diagnosed.
