Conceive Defined
To become pregnant. Conception is also known as fertilization. Usually, an egg is fertilized with sperm in the fallopian tube nearest the ovary that the egg was released from, and the fertilized egg then takes several days to travel to the uterus, where implantation occurs. Taking a birth control pill prevents ovulation and reduces fertilization.
